    LED Notification Light
    Comment:

    Hello Everyone,

I just purchased the Droid Razr MAXX HD this mornig and have noticed that the LED Notification light does not light up when recieveing Text Messages, Emails, Missed Phone Calls, While Charging etc...

Is there a way to fix it or do I have a defective phone?

I have tried a factory restore/reset and it still won't work properly.

    Thanks!

    Thanks.

We've seen a few reports on this and I know our team is looking into it. If you can hang in there for a bit I think we'll have a way to improve this.

It doesn't light up at all or only when the phone is charging?

Can you confirm that these things are set to notify?

      • Text messaging: Text > Menu > Settings > Notifications checked?
      • Gmail: Gmail > Menu > Settings > Account > Email notifications checked

I suspect these are set properly but want to make sure. Also wondering if you have downloaded any apps that use the notification light?

Also, can you update your profile to show this phone and its serial number? Thanks!

      Hello Matt,

Notifications are checked on both Text Messaging and Gmail - I noticed it downloaded a new software update last night and as of this morning the notification light flashes Green ( For Text Messages, and green for Emails)

Is it supposed to light up for missed calls or when it is charging? Or light up in any other color?

And I updated my Profile so it should show the correct information now.

The LED ntoifiaction seem to work if you're using a 3rd party app. I've read on some forums that people have got them working by using some the LED notifiaction apps. Mine have been working w/o using one of these apps but I do have other apps setup to set LED notifiactions like Maildroid and I get the LED notifiactions not just for any apps I have set them up but the stock ones as well liek missed calls. The reason why the LED aren't working is it isn't enabled and aside from a 3rd party app there's no other way I know of that's allowed to be discussed on this forum to enable it at this time.

I'm having the same problem. All notifications are on. Got the phone yesterday. Tried lightflow app, still nothing.

Same problem as "Fish". Just purchased November the 18, no notification light. Also camera has a terrible blue tinge to it.

From searching the net a little more, it seems as if the notification issues is when you set up your phone from a Google back-up. Just reset the phone and skip setting up from a Google backup and all is well.

I did that, but it I only get a notification light for text messages and nothing else.

It's a hardware issue, took me three phones until i got one with a working LED notification light. Now it works and works well with lightflow.

I had the same problem too with my new Razr HD (White) but this was related to signing in to my google account to restore the settings of my previous phone during initial setup.  I read on other forums that you can perform a hard reset, then bypass signing into your google account until after you complete the initial setup screens (go to settings, then Accounts & Sync, then sign in to your google account from there).

Evidently, something gets restored improperly if you sign into your google account via the setup wizard.  Perhaps Motorola can confirm this, but this seems to be the best solution I could find.

Motorola has Released a new App in the Play Store that should fix the problem. I am about to download it and see what happens.

I'm having the same problem as the original poster.  All notifications are on and the LED Notification light does not light up when recieveing Text Messages, Emails, Missed Phone Calls, While Charging etc...  It has never lit up.

I tried installing the "Notification Light Widget", no change.  Did a hard reset and have tried the lightflow app, still nothing.

      Any other suggestions?
