    Question Title:
Camera now updating through Play Store?
    Comment:

Is this legit?  Every other Moto app is from "Motorola Mobility, LLC" - this one is slightly different.

    If legit, that's awesome...

It's legit -- we'll be able to upgrade many aspects of the camera app throught he Play Store going forward. Nice, eh!

If the Play store says that it is compatible with your phone, than yes, it is legit. It shows as not compatible with any of my devices. I don't have a Moto X, though, either. HTH

It is legit.. Moto X version is 3.0.211 (AT&T) this one is 3.1.5, and according to the update it fixes the issues below..

      What's New
Brightened camera viewfinder so it's easier to see
Enabled Quick Capture for more Enterprise users IT policies
      Bug fixes

Just works for Moto X today. Also, if you search Play Store under "Motorola Camera" it's going to be, like, item 45 on the list. We're working on that...

This is pretty awesome, especially for Verizon users who are typically last to get "small" updates like camera tweaks.

And when you say "just works for Moto X today" - are you saying it just started today?  Or are you saying there could be more Moto devices (like the new Droids) supported this same way in the future?

Wait a minute...Motorola, a Google company, is having a problem with search results on a Google-owned website? (sorry, sorry, you know I can't resist...) wink

      Matt,

Does this statement refer to my ability to use quick capture while the phone is locked?

"Enabled Quick Capture for more Enterprise users IT policies"

Even after update, quick capture doesn't work for my phone if it is locked.  Is this something Motorola is working on?

If I could, I'd hit the "like" button for this a gazillion times! :)

For my Razr, it says "Installed," and it says "incompatible with all of your devices."

Makes me wonder what will happen the next time I take a pic.  surprise

Yup very nice to get updates this way smiley

Be cool to see updates to any other apps be applied this way since it avoids carriers delays.

Do you feel yours does not work due to administrative restrictions from work email policies?

Just updated... this is awesome that we do not have to rely on network to push out updates!
